Once you have your new baby home with you, you may have to deal with the need for attention from your older child at home. It is surprising how grown up a toddler suddenly seems to you as you carry in your new baby, but it is important to remember that they are really still the small child you left a couple of days ago.
They need the same amount of love and attention from you that you were giving during the days before you had the new baby. It is difficult to work out how to spread yourself, particularly in the early days when you are still tired from the labour and learning about the new baby.
One way of making it easier for yourself is to have some new toys ready to give to your toddler once you are home with the new baby. If you can give them something like a construction toy or farm or castle with people and animals to play with, then they will have something to occupy them when you are unable to spend time with them.
Even while you are looking after the new baby, you will be able to talk to your toddler about their toy and the stories they are making up and your attention will reassure them that they are still loved.

Buying a dolls house for a young girl is a lovely gift. There is something irresistible about the miniature doors, windows and furniture, so that the child will want to set up her own little home.
A doll’s house can keep a child and her friends occupied for hours, as they make up stories about the tiny people living there and move them around the rooms and add living room, bedroom and nursery furniture etc.
Don’t make the mistake though, of having the doll’s house all beautifully set up and arranged when it is given. The joy of a dolls house is in arranging and organising it, and like anyone who is just moving into their new home, a little girl will want it just the way she likes it. The temptation may be strong to have it all carefully arranged to show off the advantages, but then it won’t feel so much like her own house, and that is exactly what is should be.
A doll’s house needs to arrive with some furniture ready to go in, but one of the advantages is that it is a toy that can be added to often, with some expensive and some pocket money items. It is a plaything that can last for years, and over time you will build up a collection of well loved pieces.

Babies come with a huge amount of clutter and you’ll need to find somewhere to store it all. When selecting nursery furniture, bear this in mind as choosing good storage spaces is just as important as getting the right colour of soft furnishings. As your baby grows the number of toys, books, hobbies and the practical necessities will grow.
With a baby you need to make sure you have storage space for changing items, nappies, clothes and blankets. As they grow the clothes will get bigger, the numbers of toys increases and books come into the equation also. By making wise storage choices you’ll make your life easier and more orderly.
There are many things that can go on shelves and book shelves. You can hang toys on hooks and rest things on cabinet tops. For smaller items get some coordinated baskets or boxes.
For things that would look messy if they were left out in the open, arrange then in boxes that can be shut away in cabinets or wardrobes. You can get storage boxes and drawers that roll under the cot or bed and will store larger items such as games.
Organise the wardrobe carefully, making sure clothes can be accessed easily. Put seldom used items at the back of the wardrobe and consider storing away seasonal items when not needed.

Is there anything cuter than seeing a toddler peddling around in a peddle car? They look so adorable and photographable don’t they? Some of the sweetest cars on the market are the ones with little faces on them.
For example, the Brum Pedal Cars with the wide eyed lights on the front! They’re lovely, modelled from the Brum character and children look so cuddly in them. The great thing about these quality cars is that you don’t have to worry about safety issues. The Brum car comes with lead free powder coated paint with a sturdy steel construction so that the present lasts.
These cars look great and have number plates, a steering wheel, headlights and dashboard adjustable pedals to allow the child’s growth to be taken into consideration. The Brum car closely resembles the character and has bright red and yellow colours.
You can also get the old style Model T ford peddle car. This looks spectacular and when the child sits in it you just want to snap away with your camera! These cars also have that authentic 1920’s look about them so make a nice alternative to the modern day peddle cars.
Peddle cars, bikes and trikes are great for giving you a rest from the pushchairs and having a bit of fun thrown in. Your child would revel in a little trike to wheel about in and they can be bought in loads of different colours, oh, and they look lovely!
